Trusting God in New Year

As we step into the second week of 2025, the excitement of New Year resolutions may already feel like a fading memory for some of us. Life has a way of quickly pulling us back into its everyday hustle. But this is exactly the moment to pause, reflect, and ask ourselves: *What’s next? How can I grow in life while trusting God?

Here are some thoughts and steps to guide us in this journey of growth, faith, and purpose:

**1. Reflect on the First Week**

The first step to growth is self-awareness. Take a moment to reflect on the past week:

- Have you stayed committed to your resolutions?

- What challenges did you face?

- Where did you see God’s hand at work in your life?

Even if you feel you’ve fallen short, don’t lose heart. Growth is not about perfection but about persistence. As Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, *“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.”*

 **2. Set Small, Faith-Driven Goals**

Big resolutions can feel overwhelming. Instead, focus on small, actionable steps that align with your faith and values. For example:

- Spend 10 minutes daily in prayer or meditation.

- Commit to one act of kindness each day.

- Start journaling your blessings to cultivate gratitude.

Proverbs 16:3 encourages us: *“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”* Trust that even small steps, when offered to God, can lead to significant growth.

**3. Embrace Growth Through Challenges**

Growth often comes through discomfort. Whether it’s a challenging relationship, a new responsibility, or a personal struggle, see these as opportunities for God to work in you. Remember, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Ask yourself:

- What lesson is God teaching me through this situation?

- How can I respond with faith rather than fear?

**4. Build Strong Habits with God at the Center**

Lasting growth comes from building habits that nurture your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. Consider:

- **Spiritual Growth**: Read a chapter of the Bible each day or join a small group at your church.

- **Emotional Growth**: Practice forgiveness, starting with yourself. Let go of grudges and allow God’s peace to fill your heart.

- **Physical Growth**: Take care of your body, as it is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Small steps like walking daily or eating mindfully can make a big difference.

 **5. Trust God’s Timing**

In our pursuit of growth, it’s easy to become impatient. We want instant results, but God’s timing is always perfect. Trust that He is working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, *“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”*

**6. Surrender Your Plans to God**

Ultimately, true growth comes when we align our will with God’s plan for our lives. As you move forward in 2025, make it a daily habit to surrender your dreams, fears, and challenges to Him. Pray for wisdom and discernment, and trust that He will guide your steps.

*Lord, as we journey into 2025, we surrender our plans and goals to You. Help us to trust in Your timing and lean on Your understanding. Guide us to grow in faith, love, and purpose. May our lives be a reflection of Your grace and a blessing to those around us. Amen.*

This year, let’s not just strive for success but seek significance in the way we live, love, and trust God. Growth is not a sprint but a lifelong journey, and with God by our side, every step is meaningful.

Here’s to a year of faith, growth, and abundant blessings!

Happy New Year! 🎉

Jonah and the Purpose of God: A Story of Redemption and Divine Mercy

The story of Jonah is one of the most remarkable narratives in the Bible, illustrating God’s unwavering purpose and boundless mercy. Though short, the Book of Jonah carries profound lessons about obedience, repentance, and God’s compassionate love for all people. God’s purpose for Jonah was clear from the very beginning. He was called to go to the great city of Nineveh and deliver a message:   “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me” (Jonah 1:2).   Nineveh was a city known for its sinfulness and cruelty. Jonah, however, resisted God’s purpose. Instead of heading to Nineveh, he boarded a ship to Tarshish, attempting to flee from God’s presence. This act of disobedience reflects a common human struggle: resisting God’s purpose when it seems uncomfortable or contrary to our desires. Despite Jonah’s attempt to run, God did not abandon him or His purpose. Through the raging storm and the great fish, God showed J...
